-CSA Fair & Open House
Sunday, April 18, 2010 2 - 4 pm
Join us for this free informational event about Community-Supported Agriculture in Southwest Washington. CSAs sell "shares," or boxes of food, to customers who typically sign on for a season. What you get is what comes out of the garden (or barn, or coop, or hive...) that week. Customers typically pick up their order from the CSA farm or a convenient drop spot. Come meet the folks who grow, prepare, raise, and gather their harvest into delicious bundles for you to pick up and enjoy at home. Whether it's flowers and herbs, summer vegetables, or shares of meat products, CSAs provide delicious local food in a unique way and support our local economy. We'll serve a few tasty nibbles showing off these folks' products. We will also be showing the movie "Growing Awareness," a documentary about CSAs in the Pacific NW. Whether you're a seasoned CSA customer or you've never heard of it before, come learn about the many CSA opportunities available to us here in SW Washington.
